We are very pleased that you found us online. We are a vibrant research group working on drug-delivery with a special emphasis on developing colloidal systems for oral administration. Our primary objective is to harness the maximum therapeutic potential of existing drug molecules aided by better delivery approaches, that not only leads to better therapies but also possible new indications. Secondly, we are focusing on developing products based on alternative/traditional medicines. A lot of so called nutraceuticals and antioxidants are undergoing clinical trials these days, however, the success is limited due to their poor physicochemical/biopharmaceutical properties. We foresee that changing with systematic studies on improving their delivery and hence bioavailability. Lastly, we believe in the future belonging to combination therapies involving a drug and phytochemicals/herbal medicines. Though one of our first combinations for a novel indication failed, it nevertheless gave us important insights and tremendous encouragement to find the right combination and think out of the box.

Our research activities are supported by collaborations with basic science researchers spanning across diverse disciplines, including biologists, chemists, physicists, immunologists as well as clinicians. During the last 6 years we have demonstrated that new approaches can efficiently deliver drugs/phytochemicals offering better treatment regimen in diabetes, cancer, fungal infections, parasitic diseases, hyperlipidemia & postmenopausal hyperlipidemia etc. Overall, we have techniques as well as ideas to offer for an ambitious graduate student, postdoctoral researcher, industrial or a complementary academic collaborator alike.
